Sun. Sept. 27 (not an official part of our event)
2:00
pm Central High Steinway Piano
Rededication – free
concert
When the
concert concludes, around 3:15 pm, concert
attendees will have the option of self-guided
tours of the school.
Central’s
Steinway piano, delivered in 1927, had
become unplayable, and was scheduled for the dumpster. A private
foundation raised $38,000. The repairs have been made,
and the grand piano is coming home. Central High Alumni musicians will
entertain with the big band sounds of Swing Band Reunion, a choral
group, a jazz vocalist, and an alumni pianist. It promises to be a
toe-tapping afternoon.
Members
of the class of ’56 and ’60 will also be in attendance. Just a suggestion, to round-out
the weekend with this concert, School tour, and a visit with other
Central alumni.
Tickets for the concert will not be issued. The concert is
free and open to the public.
See bottom of page for parking
suggestions for the concert at Central.
We still plan
to have our 60th year reunion in ‘18.
Our 75th birthday party, a
great reason to get together before 2018.
See you in September!
Happy Birthday! from The Steering Committee
