FOREST PARK ELEMENTARY

 Forest Park Elementary

1600 North Tyler Street

Opened in 1913 at the end of a trolley line in a suburban area called Forest Park, the original building was destroyed by a tornado (some accounts say it was burned) in 1924 and replaced with the present structure.

Additions were made in 1930, 1953 and 1968, and the building was renovated in 1981. The school marked its 90th anniversary with a large celebration in 2003.
