Little Rock Boy, Jesse Calvin Green

Danville, Ark., Sat. April 19, 1958   __   Jesse Calvin Green, 18, A senior at Little Rock Central High School, drowned this morning when he fell from a boat into Fourche LaFave River near the state Highway 7 bridge south of Ola, Arkansas.

Authorities said Green was in a boat with two other youths when he fell into the River below Nimrod Dam. The accident happened about 9 a.m. but the body was not recovered until this afternoon.

Green was a son of Mr. and Mrs. C.C. Green of 1304 Washington Street, Little Rock. He taught a Sunday School class at the Immanuel Baptist Church of Little Rock and was a member of the YMCA.

Survivors besides his parents include two brothers, Tommy and Eugene Green of Little Rock: a sister Mrs. Martha Chamberlain of San Diego, Cal. and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jess Green of Arkadelphia.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Immanuel Baptist Church by Dr. W.O. Vaught, Jr. Burial will be at Bethlehem Cemetery near Arkadelphia, by Owens and Co.

Funeral, Monday May 20, 1958

Funeral for Jesse Calvin Green, age 18, of 1304 Washington Street, who drowned at Lake Nimrod Saturday, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Immanuel Baptist Church by Dr. W.O. Vaught, Jr.

Pallbearers will be Charles Heinmiller, Terry Rankin, Tom Brown, George Knight, Tom Bates, Bob Brown and James Goodman. Burial will be at Bethlehem Cemetery near Arkadelphia by Owens and Co.
