SFC Robert Joe Behnke (Bobby), age 70, of Mayflower, passed away Saturday, March 13, 2010 in Conway, Arkansas. He was a 1958 graduate of Central High School in Little Rock.

He joined the U.S. Army out of high school and served his country in the Vietnam War and stayed to retire. After retirement he lived in Mayflower. He always talked about his life in the service and the places he lived.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Behnke.

He is survived by his mother, Lenore Jo Behnke Winkle and her husband Glen Winkle of Little Rock; his brother, Larry Behnke of Tampa, Florida; uncle, Fred White of Little Rock, his nephew, Larry Kyle Behnke of North Little Rock, niece, Candynce Sorense of Cabot; his ex-wife, Chris Behnke; step-daughter, Petra Behnke; and his special friends, Betty Loyd and James Thorpe.

Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service with full military honors, Friday, March 19, at 2:00 p.m. at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock.
