Anita Kluglose Fortson, 70, of
Little Rock passed away Monday, June 7, 2010. She was born March 1,
1940, in Little Rock, daughter of Ben and Goldie Polsky Kluglose. She
was a 1958 graduate of Hall High School. She attended Brandeis
University, University, Washington, D.C. She completed a BA in
French and English Literature at Little Rock University (now UALR) in
1967.
Her employment history includes working as medical news writer at the
Veterans Administration, Washington, D.C.; public information
specialist, National Heart Information Center, National Institutes of
Health, Bethesda, Maryland; grant writer for the Arkansas Comprehensive
Health Planning Agency, Little Rock; scriptwriter at the UAMS; and the
secretary at Congregation Agudath Achim.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband,
Bill Fortson; sister, Sandra Kluglose, Indian Rock Village;
sister-in-law Lee Ann Fortson, Perryville; sister-in-law, Donna Fortson,
Memphis, TN; and brother-in-law, Kent Fortson, Cordova, TN.
The family wishes to thank Arkansas Hospice for their compassionate
care.
A graveside service will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 9, at the
Orthodox Jewish Cemetery at Oakland, Little Rock, with Rabbi Eugene
Levy, Congregation B’Nai Israel, officiating. In lieu of flowers,
memorials may be made to Congregation B’Nai Israel, 3700 North Rodney
Parham Road, Little Rock, AR 72212; Synagogue Agudath Achim, 7901 West
5th Street, Little Rock, 72205; or Arkansas Hospice Foundation, 14
Parkstone Circle, North Little Rock, AR 72116. Funeral arrangements are
