Lieutenant
Colonel Bruce Evans Fullerton
Age 75, died peacefully in his Hendersonville, TN home on December 19,
2015. Lt Col Fullerton was born on March 22, 1940 in Little Rock, AR to
John Odell Fullerton and Edna Evans Fullerton. He attended Little Rock
High School where he was named Player of the Year as a member of the
acclaimed 1957 football team. Although he had a promising football
career ahead of him, he opted to focus on his degree in Accounting while
pursuing his commission in the Air Force thru ROTC at the University of
Arkansas in Fayetteville.
As a veteran of the Vietnam
War,
Lt Col Fullerton flew the B-52, F-4, O-2, and A-10. During his
distinguished 20+ year career, he was awarded the Distinguished Flying
Cross twice as well as seven Air Medals. Following his military career,
he worked as a financial advisor and as a volunteer tax preparer for a
number of charitable agencies.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, John A. Fullerton,
and brother-in-law, Randall Wheeler. He is survived by his wife Un Hye
(Bonnie) Fullerton as well as children, Christopher, Jennifer Ferrell,
Greg, Jon and Laura Ball; his eight grandchildren and great grandchild.
He is also survived by one sibling, Jo Wheeler, and a sister-in-law,
Audrey Fullerton, and a host of nieces and nephews. He was buried at
East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 2200 E. Gov. John Sevier Hwy,
Knoxville, TN on December 30th. In lieu of flowers, the family is
requesting donations to Wounded Warrior Project.
