– Edward “Cy” H. Thorne, 79, died at his home on October 30, 2018.
Born January 19, 1939, in Augusta, ME, he was the oldest child of
Charles E. and Janet P. Thorne.
Cy worked at Bath Ironworks for 2 years then transferred to Portsmouth
Naval Shipyard & Pearl Harbor Shipyard as a General Foreman
Shipfitter for 32 years.
He was Scout Master of Troop 200 in Newmarket for 8 years.
Cy is survived by his wife of 58 years, Doris (Tainter); sons, Gregory
C. of Elizabethtown, KY & Brian E. and wife Michele of Worcester,
MA; daughters, Barbara Evans of Lee, NH, and Penny Thorne of Newmarket,
NH; Brothers, David of Chichester, NH, Lanny, Robbie and Gary of Sidney,
ME; Grandchildren, Mark Thorne & family of Rye, NH, Shannen Evans
& family of Goshen, NH, Josh Thorne and family of Ft. Drum, NY,
Jessica (Thorne) Crutcher & family of Elizabethtown, KY, Ben Thorne
and Claire of Lewiston, ME, Micaela Thorne & family of St. Robert,
MO, and Artemis Thorne of Worcester, MA; Adopted grandchildren, Nikki
Patch of Biddeford, ME, Derek Patch and family of Farmington, NH, Nikki
Fortier of Barrington, NH; Great grandchildren, Lucas, Nolan, Haley,
Ally, Carly, Declan, Gavin and Aurora.
He was predeceased by his parents and sisters, Caroline (Betty)
MacMillan and Karen Carlsen.
As per his wishes there will be no services. A Celebration of Life will
be held in the Summer of 2019. In lieu of flowers donations may be made
to Seacoast Cancer Center, Dover, NH.
