Obituary for George A. Teer

May 15, 1940 - November 18, 2019
San Antonio, Texas | Age 79

Loved and respected Father, "Granddaddy", George A. Teer went to be with our Lord on November 18, 2019 at 79 years old. George was born May 15, 1940 to Nancy Cox and George W. Teer of Little Rock, Arkansas. He graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1962 amazingly after having 15 hours of F in one semester. (He had a really good time!) He met his wife Phyllis on a blind date and were married a year later. They moved to Memphis Tennessee where their two sons were born. His career as a salesperson for Evans products moved him and his family to Houston and eventually to San Antonio after being promoted to manager. He could have moved to Laredo but Phyllis said," San Antonio is as far south as I will go." George was a dedicated and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. The greatest joy in his life was his family. He was a friend to all who knew him and made new friends quickly and easily with his relaxed charm. He held most precious, spending time with family and loved every minute with his grandsons, especially having them over for sleep overs and attending all of their sporting events.

George was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Phyllis R. Teer; sons, George Scott Teer (Melanie) and William Walding Teer (Alyssa); grandchildren, Jackson George Teer, Jacob Scott Teer, William Gage Teer, and Gulbrand Maximus Teer; his sister Janie Deveny and husband Randy Deveny and his cousins Ann Ponder and Ronnie Ponder, Sue Moore and Mike Moore.
