JOSEPH L. WEIGEL 

Weigel, Joseph L. (Joe), 72, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, May 15, 2013. He was born October 19, 1940 in Ft. Madison, Iowa, to the Rev. Oliver and Maybelle Weigel, who predeceased him. He is survived by his significant other of 17 years, Martha E. Lewis, and his beloved dog and constant companion, Abby. He also leaves two daughters, Christy Weigel Amaral of St. Petersburg, FL and Carla (Yogi) Weigel Teevens (Sam) of Logan, Utah; Martha's children, Dana (Dale) Patton, Scott (Lynette) Lewis, and Mark (Michelle) Lewis. Other survivors are his brother, John Weigel of Atlanta, GA; and two sisters, Donna Wiegel Meyers, and Darlene Weigel Tantzen of Houston, TX. Joe is also survived by cherished grandchildren, Amanda, David, Joseph, Zachary, Cody Joe, and Peyton; as well as Martha's grandchildren, Molly, Ryan, Lindsay, Chloe, Corbin, Carter, Cassidy, and Cole. Joe is also survived by the mother of his children, Myrna Weigel of Fort Worth, TX. At the request of the family no local service will be held. There will be a memorial service at a later date in Texarkana. Memorials may be sent to College Hill United Methodist Church, The Lord's Diner, Big Brothers/ Big Sisters of Sedgwick County, or the charity of your choice. Downing & Lahey Mortuary East.
