Joyce Rae McVay, of Hot Springs, was
born on New Year’s Eve, December 31st, 1940, in Little
Rock, Arkansas and passed away on August 23, 2012, in Hot
Springs, Arkansas. She worked and retired from a rewarding
career with the Military Entrance Processing Station for
the U.S. Department of Defense in Little Rock. She was
married to her soulmate, Glenn Milton McVay from 1964
until his death in 2002.
Joyce will live on in the hearts of her daughter, Gayle
Renee McVay; two grandchildren, Jacob Allen Brocksmith and
Sydney Glenn Brocksmith; and one great-grandson, Bryce
Allen Brocksmith. She is preceded in death by her son,
Glenn Eric (Rick) McVay and daughter, Denise Jayne McVay
and survived by her beloved sister, Harriet Jane Wodecker;
nieces, Linda Joyce Bills and Connie Jane Peirce and their
families; Joyce’s great-nieces and great-nephews,
great-great nieces, and a great-great nephew. She’s also
survived by cousins and in-laws that she held very dear.
Joyce has touched and brightened the lives and hearts of
her entire family and many cherished friends and will be
greatly missed by all. Joyce’s family and loved ones
were her life.
Graveside service will be at 1:00 P.M., Monday, August 27,
2012, at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Alexander,
Arkansas. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to
4:00 P.M., Sunday, at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John
F. Kennedy Blvd, North Little Rock, Arkansas
