Kathy Snell Tadlock
(September 5, 1940 - September 23, 2017)

Kathleen Marie Snell Tadlock, 77, of Sheridan passed away on September 23, 2017. Kathy was the daughter of the late George Edward Snell and Marjorie Robertson Snell of Little Rock. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Charles Eugene Tadlock, her son, Charles Craig Tadlock (Phyllis) of Plano, Texas, her daughter, Cymber Tadlock Gieringer (Joey) of Pine Bluff, and two grandchildren, Katie Elizabeth Tadlock and Andrew Charles Tadlock. She is also survived by her sister, Carolyn O’Cain of Benton, and her brother, Frank Snell of Little Rock, and she was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Snell.

Kathy graduated from Little Rock Central High School in 1958 and from Hendrix College in 1962. She began her career as an elementary school teacher in Charleston, Arkansas, and she always loved children. After teaching and coaching cheer and gymnastics at Charleston, she served as Associate Director for the Arkansas Activities Association for 30 years, administering events and rules to promote fairness and sportsmanship in high school activities in Arkansas and nationally. She chaired the Spirit Rules Committee of the National Federation of State High School Associates and wrote the modern rules to foster safe cheer and spirit practices and competition. She was inducted into the Arkansas Track & Field Hall of Fame in 2011 for her dedicated efforts in support of the track and field community. She was also a dedicated supporter of her alma mater, Hendrix, serving on the Alumni Board of Governors and being inducted into the Hendrix Sports Hall of Honor. She was an active member of the Methodist Church and especially enjoyed singing in the choir.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Sheridan, P.O. Box 357, Sheridan, AR 72150.

Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at First United Methodist Church in Sheridan with Rev. Daniel Kirkpatrick officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home Monday, from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M.
